J.R. Herrera is from South Texas and has 20 years of experience performing various types of music.  J.R. grew up in Edinburg, Tx. where he first began developing his musical talent. After graduating and teaching middle school science in the public school system, he moved to Austin, Texas to further work on exploring his love for country music. Several years later, while still teaching and performing part-time in the local bar scene and private/corporate events, he decided to leave education and pursue his dream of being a full-time country musician. From 2014 to 2016, J.R. was a top country music performer for Carnival Cruise Lines and had  the opportunity to meet and perform for thousands of country music enthusiasts from across the U.S. He has also had the pleasure of collaborating with and learning from some of the best musicians from all over the world.

The J.R. Herrera Band formed in 2017 in San Antonio, Tx. and now performs throughout Texas. They recently released their debut album "The Next Big Show" and are currently promoting their 4th single to Texas Radio entitled "I'm Just Not That Strong."
