J.R. Herrera is from South Texas and has 20 years of experience performing various types of music.  J.R. grew up in Edinburg, Tx. where he first began developing his musical talent. After graduating and teaching middle school science in the public school system, he moved to Austin, Texas to further work on exploring his love for country music. Several years later, while still teaching and performing part-time for private/corporate events and in the local bar scene, he decided to leave education and pursue his dream of being a full-time country musician. From 2014 to 2016, J.R. was a top country music performer for Carnival Cruise Lines and had the opportunity to meet and perform for thousands of country music enthusiasts from across the U.S.

     The J.R. Herrera Band formed in 2017 in San Antonio, Tx. and now performs throughout Texas featuring a high-energy set composed of their TX Country singles as well as their favorite dancehall country tunes.
